Lions Clubs International is the world's largest service club organization with 1.3 million members in approximately 45,000 clubs in 205 countries and geographical areas.  Lions are men and women who volunteer their time to humanitarian causes. Founded in 1917, the volunteer organization's motto is "We Serve."

Worldwide, Lions clubs are recognized for their service to the blind and visually impaired. This service began when Helen Keller challenged Lions to become "knights of the blind in the crusade against darkness" during the 1925 Lions Clubs International Convention.





We at Marietta Lions Club, volunteer to help causes of other Organizations.

Our club participates in free of charge eye screenings at the
North Georgia State Fair:

We distribute the American Flags each 4th of July ahead of the Marietta Independence Day Parade:

Two of the major State causes we support are:
The Georgia Lighthouse Foundation
 and Georgia Lions Camp For The Blind.

We are also involved in local charities.
We provide eye exams and eye glasses to those in need through a co-op with Lens Crafters.

Although the fight against blindness is major business with Lions we are not limited to eyesite issues.

Marietta Lions is proud to support The Extension. Also, some of the residents have assisted us in serving hotdogs, hamburgers,
and bar-b-que plates on Marietta square during Marietta Daze and the 4th of July celebration. All have been
great, hard working folks succeeding in overcoming painful pasts and stepping into a new and productive arena for their lives.
The Extension
The Extension is a non-profit, community-supported organization serving Cobb County and the entire metropolitan Atlanta area.  They provide addiction recovery services through a comprehensive Residential Recovery Program for homeless men, outpatient counseling and various outreach initiatives.  They have recently developed a residential program for homeless, addicted women.
